Phace, Misanthrop & Noisia – Neosignal 006

neosignal 006 coverOriginally scheduled for release this month, Neosignal decided to release 006 before Christmas as a gift to all the fans and supporters of the previous releases. Unfortunately these singles are few and far between—I’m sure everyone’s ready for another From Deep Space.

The Phace and Misanthrop collab, “Desert Orgy,” is a deep drum & bass tune with organic atmospheres and some of the sickest bass sounds I’ve ever heard. The drop at 2:00 is out of this world! “Neptune Orgy” may have been more fitting.

“Stagger,” by Phace and Noisia, is a broken beat dnb tune with heavy future bass at it’s core and intense percussion & power-up sounds throughout.

Neosignal MP3s are available at iTunes and Beatport—but  if you want the 12″ with artwork, check neosignal.de for more info.

MP3 1: Phace & Misanthrop – Desert Orgy
MP3 2: Phace & Noisia – Stagger

Meat Axe – Handjobs for the Loser Crowd EP

After spending 8 years as dark psytrance act in Australia, Tim Hanlon and Daniel Verbi have switched gears for their first release as Meat Axe—a glitchy breakbeat duo fusing street bass, breaks and sampling. The sound of Handjobs for the Loser Crowd is similar to that of Kraddy, Mr. Oizo and Fukkk Offf, topped off with some filth. You can hear samples of the entire release at meat-axe.com/ep.

MP3 1: Meat Axe – Chocolate Grind
MP3 2: Meat Axe – Wake Me For Rissoles

Tapage & Meander – Etched in Salt

Etched in Salt is a unique collaborative album from Netherland producers Tapage and Meander, which stands out in a genre completely saturated with indistinguishable and forgettable albums. The interaction between beautiful, delicate melodies and distorted breakcore rhythms is right on point. Think Venetian Snares meets Plaid and Brian Eno. If you haven’t already, put this on your list of albums to catch up on from 2010. To hear more, check out Tapage & Meander on iTunes.

MP3 1: Tapage & Meander – Tolopea
MP3 2: Tapage & Meander – California Blue

Kaiser’s The Art of War EP is a Trip Beyond

I’m not trying ride Miley Cyrus’ coattails as the next spokesman for Salvia, but Kaiser’s “The Panopticon” is the most accurate musical description of an intense Salvia trip—at least in my experiences. “The Panopticon” exemplifies the feeling of being buried by waves of digital sludge and energy. Your body keeps falling deeper and deeper into a tunnel full of insanely weird and unexplainable things—only to surface and feel incredibly invigorated.

Bravo, bravo, Kaiser!

The Art of War EP (October ‘10, Slit Jockey Records) is a huge debut release from Bristol producer, Kaiser. Heaps of fluorescent future bass and intricate beats here. Look out for his upcoming release on Slit Jockey, Tasty Lazers. This one’s gonna have 3 original tracks plus remixes by Dev79 & Thrills, Kozee, BD1982 and Halp. To hear more, check out Kaiser on iTunes.

MP3 1: Kaiser – The Panopticon
