Last year, SW4 brought you Fatboy Slim, Armin Van Buuren, Carl Cox, Skream, Benga, Boyz Noize and Andy C. This year, the show’s getting even bigger. The first headliner announced is Pendulum, who will be performing a full live show of which Mixmag called “the world’s most exciting live act.” Their shows are full of energy, twisted bass, heavy beats and an amazing light show including pyrotechnics. This will be their only stop in London this year, so don’t miss out.

Things are looking huge for SW4 2011 and Pendulum is just the tip of the iceberg. The full line-up will be gradually revealed in the coming weeks. The festival will be held Saturday the 27th and Sunday the 28th of August at Clapham Common, London. General sale tickets will be available Wednesday the 16th of April at 9AM.

On Sunday, August 29th, Fatboy Slim will close out the South West Four weekend. This will be his only 2010 London show as well and guaranteed to be one hell of a DJ set. Other DJs/producers to have headlined in the past include Sasha, John Digweed, Paul van Dyk and Carl Cox.

Tickets go on sale in London sometime between 9 AM and 2 PM on Tuesday February 23rd. Different sources have different times so I’d be sure to be up around 8:30 to get your orders in immediately.

Although Kryptic Minds are new to the dubstep arena, they’ve managed to infuse the expected spacious half-step formula with their own dark brooding style, creating yet another unique offshoot of dubstep. Long-time fans will appreciate this smooth transition as the same elements and slick production that draws them to Kryptic Minds remain present on the record. The individual tracks are intelligent and dynamic—containing a good balance between thick walls of sound and sparse breathable rhythms, but the whole can be a bit arduous. The album lacks differentiating bpms and the energy of previous Kryptic Minds releases. Independently though, “One of Us,” “Six Degrees,” and “Secure Lost” will most definitely make their way into countless DJ sets and late night mixes.  ~ tom

HARD NYC is the first show on the list with a good blend of dubstep, electro and breakbeat artists. Crookers, Major Lazer, Rusko, Jack Beats and Destructo will be performing at Terminal 5 in NYC on 10/10/09.

The second event, HARD Haunted Mansion, is a 2-day festival in Los Angeles at The Shrine on October 30th and 31st. Artists include: Basement Jaxx, Crookers, Major Lazer, Modeselektor, Steve Aoki, Danger, Destructo, Deadmau5, 2 Many DJs, A-Trak, The Bloody Beetroots, Don Rimini, Mixhell, Harvard Bass, Staccato, Justice, Buraka Som Sistema, Shinichi Osawa, Zombie Nation, Classixx, and more!

The final event is HARD New Years Eve at the Palladium in Los Angeles on December 31st. Boys Noize is heading the event. I couldn’t find a list of other artists so be sure to check hardfest.com frequently for more info.  ~ tom

MP3: Basement Jaxx – Don’t Give Up

This final tour “Wave Goodbye” is a must see for old fans. The show is raw and spontaneous and the energy of the band is through the roof. They’re performing many of the songs they never got a chance to play before including “Heresy,” “The Downward Spiral,” “Mr. Self Destruct,” “Metal,” “Physical,” “I’m Afraid of Americans,” “The Becoming,” “The Way Out Is Through” and “Last.” Since the set-list changes up every night, fans are attending as many shows as they can afford. Janes Addiction then close out the night with an explosive performance. Unfortunately, the US tour is almost over. Tomorrow the band is performing at the Merriweather Post Pavilion in Columbia, MD. Tickets are still on sale so I’ll probably catch this one too. Then, my youth will officially feel over. I think we can all sympathize with nin.com forum member, Shitfuckdamn, who posted “Might as well named it the ‘Goodbye Forever and Get Your Razor Blades Out’ tour.”
